Prayer Focus/ Modern Slavery
Modern-day slavery is very much alive in Pakistan.; entire families have been forced into bonded servitude due to extreme poverty.
Often, what happens is that helpless people are exploited by slave owners, offering to pay the bills for themselves and their families. In exchange, the whole family becomes bonded to the brick kiln owner. And in many instances, these people are bound to the kilns for 20 and 30 years. Once they get into the brick kilns, they never come out.
We are working with local pastors in the brick kiln areas to redeem entire families from slavery and relocate them to safe areas under the leadership of a local pastor and church.
We will also provide their housing costs (for a short period) so they may find work and support their families in freedom!
We estimate that we can liberate one family, relocate them, and help establish them in their newfound freedom for approximately $5000!
We are tasked with redeeming six families from the slavery of the brick kilns and extending to them the freedom found in Christ.
